What is Babylon?

Babylon is a modular security protocol that enables Proof-of-Stake (PoS) chains to inherit the economic finality of Bitcoin—without altering their consensus mechanisms.

It is built on three core components: Bitcoin Timestamping, BTC Staking, and the Bitcoin Finality Layer.

• Bitcoin Timestamping anchors PoS chain data into Bitcoin blocks, leveraging Bitcoin’s unmatched security and finality.

• BTC Staking allows BTC holders to stake their native Bitcoin (no bridges, no wrapping), bringing economic security to PoS chains.

• Bitcoin Finality Layer acts as a universal finality layer powered by Bitcoin, designed to secure the next generation of sovereign blockchains.

Babylon is attracting some of the best Babylon validators to its mainnet launch, each contributing to a more secure and decentralized ecosystem.

Imperator's Role as a Genesis Validator

As a Genesis Validator, Imperator will help bootstrap Babylon’s validator set and contribute to the security, decentralization, and reliability of the protocol from day one.

This role is particularly meaningful as it builds on our prior involvement as a Finality Provider, where we played a key part in testing and validating Babylon’s Bitcoin-based finality layer during its early phases.

By running a validator node at genesis, we will be actively involved in producing blocks, participating in consensus, and ensuring uptime and performance across Babylon’s infrastructure.
